COVID-19 Mandates & Protocols for Boston
Information Regarding The Vaccine & Indoor Mask Mandate
Executive Director of the Boston Public Health Commission, regarding vaccination requirements in Boston states that all customers, employees and vendors are required to provide proof of vaccination to be allowed entry into fitness center, indoor dining at restaurants, bars, catering/event facilities and any other indoor sit-down dining located in the city of Boston. This vaccine mandate is also coupled with a city-wide indoor mask mandate that is still in effect.
“Proof of vaccination” means proof of receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use or licensed for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization, as required under the phased implementation of this order.
What You Need To Know
Individuals ages 12 and older who plan to be present at WCDE Boston must have proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. More information on what the City of Boston considers proof of vaccine can be found here.
Dancers and Studio Representatives ages 12 and older have the ability to provide information about their vaccination status in their individual event waiver to receive their workshop wristband and audition number. For individuals who choose to not enter this information online, you will need to provide your proof of vaccination at the registration table in order to receive your workshop wristband and audition number. Your waiver must be complete by Tuesday, February 8th 2022 at 12:00pm (Noon) EST in order to submit your information ahead of time.
Family Members, Guardians, and Additional Supporters ages 12 and older have the ability to provide information about their vaccination status by visiting gowcde.com/proofofvax and completing a form to receive a proof of vaccination wristband. For individuals who choose to not enter this information online, you will need to provide your proof of vaccination in the lobby of the event in order to receive your proof of vaccination wristband. Your form must be complete by Tuesday, February 8th 2022 at 12:00pm (Noon) EST in order to submit your information ahead of time.
Masks will be required for all individuals ages 5 and older when they are not actively performing on stage. A performer exception is in place for all dancers during the competition portions of the event.
At a vaccine required event, a public health official or venue representative has the right to request proof of vaccination at any point in time. It is the responsibility of each individual to provide their proof of vaccination if requested by the venue or a public health official, not the responsibility of WCDE.
No refunds will be provided to individuals if they are removed from the event by the venue or a public health official for not complying with local ordinances.
Seeking Room Monitors!
What Is A Room Monitor?
Room Monitors are an additional set of eyes for West Coast Dance Explosion Event Staff throughout the weekend during convention classes. Each age specific ballroom on a weekend has two shifts available: Saturday & Sunday.
What Does A Room Monitor Do?
The main function of a Room Monitor is to help WCDE check event wristbands and credentials during workshop class times. All adults present in a ballroom must have a WCDE Observer Wristband, Dance Educator Credential, or WCDE Staff Badge in order to gain access to any ballroom spaces. Room Monitors must be present either just outside the ballroom doors or on the interior entrance during all scheduled classes and breaks (with the exception of lunch when ballrooms are closed). Monitors will also help answer some basic questions about the event and communicate with WCDE staff if any issues arise in their assigned ballroom.
What Do I Get For Being A Room Monitor?
Each selected monitor will receive benefits based on them accepting one or two shifts. Monitors have the benefit of being able to observe class during their shift!*
+ Monitors who accept one shift will recieve a Two Day Parent Observer Pass. ($55 Savings!)
+ Monitors who accept two shifts will recieve a Two Day Parent Observer Pass & a merchandise credit of $60! (valid during lunch on Sunday)
