What Is A Room Monitor?

Room Monitors are an additional set of eyes for West Coast Dance Explosion Event Staff throughout the weekend during convention classes. Each age specific ballroom on a weekend has two shifts available: Saturday & Sunday.

What Does A Room Monitor Do?

The main function of a Room Monitor is to help WCDE check event wristbands and credentials during workshop class times. All adults present in a ballroom must have a WCDE Observer Wristband, Dance Educator Credential, or WCDE Staff Badge in order to gain access to any ballroom spaces. Room Monitors must be present either just outside the ballroom doors or on the interior entrance during all scheduled classes and breaks (with the exception of lunch when ballrooms are closed). Monitors will also help answer some basic questions about the event and communicate with WCDE staff if any issues arise in their assigned ballroom.

 

What Do I Get For Being A Room Monitor?

Each selected monitor will receive benefits based on them accepting one or two shifts. Monitors have the benefit of being able to observe class during their shift!*

 

+ Monitors who accept one shift will receive a Two Day Parent Observer Pass. ($60 Savings!)

 

+ Monitors who accept two shifts will receive a Two Day Parent Observer Pass & a merchandise credit of $60! (valid during lunch on Sunday)
